This list only contains switches that I have personally used.
- KiiBoom Pink Rose
- Total Travel: 3.80±0.2mm
- Pre-Travel: 1.6±0.4mm
- Actuation Force: 38±15gf
- Bottom Force: 42±15gf
- Lube: Pre-lubed, but it’s just a tiny smear on each rail. I’d highly suggest hand lubing for optimal smoothness and sound.
- Comments: The Pink Rose switch by KiiBoom is my favorite switch that no one ever seems to talk about. It’s a lightweight switch with a deeper sound profile than I’ve found in other light switches. Mine are well broken in now, but even stock, they are smooth and not scratchy.
- Akko CS Crystal Blue
- Total Travel: 4.0 – 0.5mm
- Pre-Travel: 1.6 ± 0.3mm
- Bottom Force: 40 ± 5gf
- Lube: None. You’ll want to hand lube these.
- Comments: Akko’s CS line is a popular replacement for keyboards with Outemu hotswap sockets. Unfortunately, Akko V3 Pro switches no longer fit, even if you clip the plastic legs off (I can’t confirm if V3 non-pro fits). These Crystal Blue switches are lightweight switches that can be made to sound pretty marbly and poppy on the right keyboard or with the right mods. They’re not as deep as the KiiBoom Pink Roses, but they have a satisfying feel and sound once lubed.
- Wuque Studio Morandi
- Total Travel: 3.50±0.3mm
- Bottom Force: 60g
- Lube: Pre-lubed, and done well. No need to hand lube.
- Comments: WS Morandis are a medium weight switch that are well-liked in the community for how well-rounded they are. They’re not too heavy, not too light, trend toward the deeper sound that most people want, and you can pop them right into your keyboard when you get them without spending hours lubing. There is one major caveat, though. Morandis have pretty serious stem wobble. Some people care about this, some don’t. Supposedly, you can film the switches to make it better, but I haven’t tried. Taking apart the switches kinda defeats part of the reason to buy these.
